Color roles

Start from a palette

Pick a set of colors. Your bot makes each role in its color, posts the buttons, and keeps one color per member.

Three ways to pick

Emoji, buttons or a menu

Same roles, your choice of style. Your bot can post any of them, or all three.

rolesGrab the roles you want

The classic. React to get a role, and remove the reaction to drop it. Your bot adds the starter emoji itself.

Swatch's Pick your interests post, with Games, Art, Events and Music reactions. You react with Art and get the Art role.

Auto roles

Auto roles from the moment they join

Newcomers get a starter role as they arrive. Then they pick the rest themselves, and your bot keeps it all tidy.

  1. NewcomerOn joinThe moment kit joined, the bot gave Newcomer. No one had to lift a finger.
  2. MintColor buttonkit tapped Mint. Their name turned mint everywhere, old messages too.
  3. ArtMenukit picked Art from the menu, and #art-share opened up.
  4. EventsReactionkit reacted with 📅 on the events post. Removing it drops the role.
  5. MemberSwapWith a color picked, the bot swapped Newcomer for Member.

Try it first

Watch Alex and Sam pick colors first

Describe your roles in plain words, and camel-builder, our AI, writes the bot.

Then try it in your private test channel. Tap as Alex or Sam, two pretend members, and watch each role change before anything reaches your server.

FAQ

Before you post the panel

What is a Discord reaction roles bot?
It lets members give themselves roles. They react with an emoji, tap a button or pick from a menu, and the bot adds the role. Removing the reaction or tapping again takes it away, so nobody has to ask a moderator.
How do I make a reaction roles bot without code?
Sign in to camelBot with Discord and describe your roles in plain words. Name the colors or interests, the emoji or buttons, and who can post the panel. Our AI writes the bot. Try it in a private test channel, then publish it and add it to your server.
How do I give new members a role automatically?
Ask for it when you describe your bot. It gives every new member a starter role, such as Newcomer, the moment they join, and it can swap that role for another once they pick their own.
Can members wear one color at a time?
Yes. When someone picks a new color, the bot takes the old one off and gives the new one. Tapping their color again takes it off.
Can the bot make the roles for me?
Yes. It can make each role with its name and color, and it can hand out roles you already have too. Keep the bot's own role above the roles it gives, and Discord takes care of the rest.
Can a role open a channel?
Yes. Let a role see a channel, and members see it the moment they pick that role. Your bot can also make a private channel just for the people with a role.
Should I use emoji reactions or buttons?
Both work well. Reactions are the classic and show a count on each emoji. Buttons and menus send a private reply that only the member sees, so they always know what changed. Your bot can use any mix.
How much does a reaction roles bot cost?
Nothing right now, and there's no credit card to add. Build it, try it in your test channel and add it to your server.
