What you’ll send
Build a leveling bot for my server. Each message earns 15 to 25 XP, picked at random, then that member waits one minute before their next XP. Each level takes 100 XP more than the one before. Post level-ups right in the chat. Give the Regular role at level 5, the Trailblazer role at level 10 and the Summiteer role at level 20. Add /rank for anyone's level and place, and /leaderboard for the top 10. Save only each member's XP, level and last XP time.

How does an XP bot decide who gets XP?
It hears every message in the channels you add it to. A message earns XP, then a short cooldown starts for that member, so steady chat climbs and quick spam waits. You pick the amount, the cooldown, and which channels count.
Can a Discord level bot give roles at certain levels?
Yes. Pick a role for any level, like Regular at 5 and Trailblazer at 10, and the bot hands it over the moment someone gets there. It can keep the earlier roles or swap them for the newest. Place the bot’s role above the reward roles in your server settings, and it’s ready. Members can pick other roles themselves, like colors, with reaction roles.
Can members earn XP in voice channels?
Yes. The bot sees who joins and leaves voice channels, so it can give XP for every minute people spend there together.
Can I bring levels over from another bot?
Yes. Ask for a staff command that sets a member’s XP or level, then enter where everyone was. Only members with the permission you choose can use it.
Where do members see their level?
A rank command shows anyone their level, XP, and place on the board, just for them. A leaderboard command shows the server’s top 10, and level-ups post in the chat or in a #level-ups channel you pick.
Does a leveling bot keep what people write?
It only needs who chatted and when. Ask it to save only XP, levels and times, and that’s all its database holds.
