Discord event bot FAQ
Quick answers before the doors open.
What does a Discord event bot do?
It posts your event in a channel with RSVP buttons, keeps a live headcount of who’s going, and reminds everyone going before it starts. You decide the rest, like a cap and a waitlist, sign-up forms, event roles, or a new event every week.
How do I make a Discord event bot?
Sign in to camelBot with Discord and describe your events in plain words. camel-builder, our AI, writes the bot with no code. Try it in a private test channel as different members, then add it to your server.
Can a Discord RSVP bot remind people before the event?
Yes. Pick how long before the start, and at that moment the bot posts in the event’s channel and mentions everyone who said Going. Move the event and the reminder moves with it.
Will members see the start time in their own time zone?
Yes. The bot writes the start as a Discord timestamp, and Discord shows it in each member’s local time. A start at 8 PM in Chicago reads 9 PM in New York.
Can I cap the spots and keep a waitlist?
Yes. Set a number of spots. When Going is full, people who say Going after that join a waitlist in order, and when a spot opens, the first person waiting moves up and gets a mention.
Can people sign up for a role, like tank or healer?
Yes. Members can pick a role from a menu or fill in a short form when they sign up, and the post shows who’s in each role. The bot can also give everyone going an event role.
Is the event bot free?
Yes, while camelBot is in beta, and there’s no credit card to enter.
