camelStream Terms of Use

Last updated: August 24, 2026

Questions about these Terms? Email legal@camelai.com. These Terms cover camelStream only; the camelAI coding agent has its own Terms of Service.

These Terms of Use are an agreement between CamelQA, Inc., doing business as camelAI ("we", "us"), and you. They cover camelStream — our flat-rate AI inference service at stream.camelai.com, including its APIs, console, and documentation — and nothing else; the camelAI coding agent has its own Terms of Service. You accept these Terms by creating an account or using an API key. If you do not agree, do not use camelStream. Section 9 sends disputes to individual arbitration.

The deal, in five points

  • You pay per stream, not per token. One stream processes one request at a time. Extra requests wait in a queue — sometimes longer than your client's timeout, which is yours to manage. Want parallelism? Buy more streams.
  • We pick the models and providers, and we change them whenever we need to. No specific model or version is promised.
  • No speed or uptime guarantees. We work to keep camelStream fast and available; we do not promise any particular throughput, latency, or uptime.
  • What you send may train AI. Prompts and outputs may be retained and used to train models — by our inference providers under their own policies, and potentially by us. There is no opt-out on standard plans. Assume anything you send can be kept and used for training (Section 4).
  • Your account details are different. We never give inference providers your name, email, billing details, or API keys, and we never use them to train models.

1. The Service

camelStream gives you unlimited tokens at a flat monthly price per stream. "Unlimited" means we do not meter or bill tokens — not unlimited concurrency: each stream handles one request at a time, enforced across all your API keys, and requests beyond your streams wait in a queue until one frees up. Queue waits are not bounded; we may cap the queue and drop waiting requests (you will get a 503). Your client's timeout, retry, and concurrency settings are your responsibility — especially if you run many parallel agents against a small number of streams — and we are not responsible for work, time, or third-party costs lost to waits, timeouts, or dropped requests.

We choose the model, version, provider, and infrastructure for every request, and we may change any of them — and any feature or technical limit of camelStream — at any time, without notice. We aim to serve frontier models at usable speeds, but we do not guarantee any particular model, output quality, consistency, throughput, latency, uptime, or queue time, and there is no service-level agreement.

Do not game it: no duplicate accounts to avoid stream pricing, no pooling keys across unrelated parties, no traffic designed to hold streams open, degrade the service, or dodge limits. We may throttle or deprioritize traffic — including serving unusually heavy accounts at lower priority — or require a plan that matches your use.

2. Accounts and API keys

You must be at least 18, able to bind whoever you sign up for, and you must keep your account information accurate. Keep API keys secret: everything done with your keys is your responsibility until you revoke them. If you build a product on camelStream and issue keys to your own users (that is what the Management API is for), you are responsible for those users, their traffic shares your streams, and you must tell them — before they submit anything — that their content may be retained and used for AI training. Do not resell raw access to camelStream outside a product you operate.

3. Acceptable use

Use camelStream lawfully. Do not use it to break the law or harm people; to generate child sexual abuse material; to create malware, attack systems, or commit fraud; to violate others' rights; or to probe, disrupt, or overload the service or its customers. Do not try to extract models or circumvent limits or security. Do not submit data you have no right to share, and keep regulated and high-risk data out entirely — payment card numbers, credentials, health records, government IDs, information about children. camelStream is not HIPAA-compliant and we offer no business associate agreement. We may monitor for abuse, and we may suspend or terminate accounts for violations, with or without notice.

4. Your content and AI training

You own what you send ("input"), and we assign to you whatever rights we have in what comes back ("output"). Output is AI-generated: it may be wrong, may not be unique, and may infringe someone's rights — evaluate it before you rely on it. It is not professional advice.

Input, output, and their request metadata together are "API content." You grant us the license needed to process API content to run camelStream, and a separate perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license — sublicensable to our inference providers and model-development partners — to retain API content and use it to train, evaluate, and improve AI models and services, including models unrelated to camelStream, with human review. We say "may": we promise neither that we do all of this today nor that we will not. Inference providers may also retain API content under their own policies, may train on it, and may be anywhere in the world; we cannot retrieve or delete what they hold, and this license survives the closing of your account. Assume anything you send through the API can be retained and used for training. API content is not confidential. This is part of why the price is low, and there is no opt-out on a standard plan; for no-training or zero-retention terms, ask about a custom agreement at /stream/contact.

Your account data — name, email, billing details, API keys, support messages — is different: we never share it with inference providers and never use it to train models.

You are responsible for having the rights and consents to submit your input, including anything your end users send through you.

5. Billing

Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance through Stripe at a flat price per stream (current price at stream.camelai.com), plus any applicable taxes, and renew automatically each month until you cancel. You can change your stream count at any time (changes are prorated) and cancel at any time in your account settings or by emailing support@camelai.com; cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you paid for. No refunds, and no credits for downtime, queue waits, or model changes — except that we will refund unused prepaid fees if we discontinue camelStream. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice, effective at your next renewal. Failed payments suspend your streams.

6. Disclaimers

camelStream, its documentation, and all output are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express, implied, or statutory — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

7. Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or work — including work lost to queue waits and timeouts — and our total liability for all claims, combined, is capped at the greater of US$100 and the fees you paid us in the six months before the event behind the claim. Some places do not allow parts of this; there, it applies as far as the law permits. These limits are part of what makes the flat price possible.

8. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your input, your end users, your use of output, or your breach of these Terms or the law.

9. Disputes

California law governs these Terms. Email legal@camelai.com about any dispute first and give us 30 days to work it out. After that, disputes are resolved by binding individual arbitration before JAMS in San Francisco — not in court, with no class actions and no jury — except that either of us may use small-claims court, or ask a court to stop intellectual-property infringement or abuse of the service. You may opt out of arbitration entirely by emailing legal@camelai.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. If the class-action waiver is found unenforceable for a particular claim, that claim must be decided in court, not arbitration, and the rest of this section still applies. Any claim that is not arbitrated must be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts in San Francisco, California.

10. Everything else

We may change camelStream and these Terms; for material changes to the Terms we will give notice by email or in the console before they take effect, and continued use after that is acceptance. Notices to you go to your account email; notices to us go to legal@camelai.com or CamelQA, Inc., 274 Hartford Street, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA. Do not use camelStream where United States sanctions or export laws forbid it. We may assign these Terms in a merger, acquisition, or sale; you may not assign them without our consent. Feedback you send us, we may use freely. We are not liable for failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control. If part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest stands, and the parts that by their nature survive — the licenses in Section 4, and Sections 6 through 10 — survive the closing of your account. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any custom agreement we have signed are the entire agreement. Questions: legal@camelai.com. Support: support@camelai.com.
